Teatro Principal

Located on La Rambla, the Teatro Principal, founded in 1596, is the oldest theater in Barcelona and was once one of Spain’s most iconic cultural institutions.

ATIR Hospitality is leading the comprehensive transformation of this unique heritage asset to turn it into a large, multipurpose cultural venue that will host live music, dance, theater, musical theater, presentations, and conferences, alongside a diverse range of dining options.

The architectural project is designed by Batlleiroig, and within its 10,000 square meters, it aims to preserve the heritage features of spaces such as the Cúpula Venus, the Teatro Latino, and the old Jai Alai fronton, as well as the Principal itself.

Beyond the architectural restoration, the most important aspect is that the Principal will once again open its doors, allowing artists, musicians, locals, and visitors to reconnect with the cultural tradition at the lower end of La Rambla.
